Personnel Productivity System (PPS).

Communications Management Controller (CMC) used for "Load Balancing" and "Automated Recovery".  This project was performed for a major bank and it consisted of multiple phases conducted over an 18 month period.  The project goal was to be able to front-end the existing mainframe environment with a mid-range computer used as a gateway between end users and applications.  The CMC would accept "applid" (application id) requests from end users along with their userid (user id) and pswd (password), examine workloads on mainframes supporting the applid, and then connect the end user to the mainframe having the fewest userid's on the requested application.  Should a mainframe fail, the users connected to the application on the mainframe would be reconnected to one of the other mainframes supporting the application.  This reconnection would be transparent to the end user.  In addition to this service, the CMC also supported automated error identification via Netview and automated rerouting around error points (it possible due to multiple paths).  Single points of failure (i.e. single line between two points) could not be routed around, but they would be identified through this system.  As a result of this system, the user experienced greater uptime and productivity, while end users were happier with the services provided by the bank.

Alternate Site Supplier Study and Deliverable.  This project was conducted for multiple buildings in the NYC area.  Its purpose was to identify alternate communications suppliers and delivery methods for building tenants, so that they were not exposed to a single point of failure caused by supplier or delivery methods.  As a result of this study, at least one alternate supplier was provided to the building, along with alternative delivery methods (second entry/exit from building, alternate exchanges, alternative methods like satellite, etc.).  Clients utilizing this service received greater security and in some cases reduced costs.  The building manager also received revenues through bill management and site management services.

Automated Job Documentation and Control System used to support Automated Job Turnover System.  this system was developed for a major bank in lower Manhattan, and then for brokerage firms and other financial institutions.  Consisting of the Docu/Text and Endevor tools, the system was used to validate job documentation and standards adherence via the Job/Scan product and then to automatically initiate a second job step that would allow Endevor to move components that had successfully passed standards checking to the next environment associated with job turnover (i.e., Development to Test, Test to Quality Assurance, Quality Assurance to Production Acceptance, Production Acceptance to Production - and sometimes Production to Disaster Recovery or Maintenance to repeat the cycle for change controls).  this system greatly reduced job turnover durations, while improving the operating environment and job documentation.

Personnel Productivity System (PPS).  This system provides personnel with the tools and training they need to perform the functional responsibilities associated with their job description.  It is comprised of three modules responsible for Personnel Training, Recruitment / Placement, and Workflow Management.  Through the use of this system, it is possible to review pending projects and determine if personnel are qualified to perform the tasks contained within the project (based on training and workload levels).  Staff improvements and supplementation can be scheduled and accomplished prior to task start schedules, while workload routing and management can be supported through the Workload Management functionality.
