Business Impact Analysis (BIA)
This contract will define the risk exposures presently within the firm
and provide management with a report and presentation describing the risks and
outlining the recovery plans that must be created to mitigate the risk
exposures.
Data Sensitivity and
Vital Records Management
This study will identify all data records, their owners, users, and
regulatory associations. From this information, access controls and backup
/ recovery procedures will be dictated to protect company information against
loss or regulatory failure.
Business Recovery Plan generation
Once risks are identified, Recovery Plans will be created to respond to
problems. Recovery Teams and Tools will be identified for each recovery
plan and a sequence of events associated with a recovery will be itemized within
the recovery plan. These plans will be constantly tested and updated to
insure their ability to safeguard the business. Recovery Plan creation and
maintenance will be integrated within the everyday functions performed by
personnel, so that their creation and maintenance will be a fall-out of doing
business as normal. It is believed that by making Business Recovery a
separate function from the normal turnover function, it will either lag current
systems or not be accomplished at all.
Integrating Recovery Plans within the Contingency Command Center
Once Recovery Plans are created, they must be integrated within the
Contingency Command Center, so that problems can be matched to recoveries and
teams activated. The Help Desk, Operations Control Center, Network Control
Center and Contingency Command Center all work together to identify problems
that could escalate into disasters. As problems become more critical, the
Contingency Command Center will activate Recovery Teams to confront the disaster
and then coordinate and manage all recovery action until normal operations are
resumed.
Project Management regarding implementation of Disaster Recovery Plans.
DCAG will assist your organization in its creation and maintenance of Project
Plans relating to Disaster Recovery and Business Resumption Planning.
Supporting and
Maintaining Disaster Recovery Plans
Integrating Disaster Recovery Plans within the normal turnover function
will insure that security, vital record management, and recovery functions are
maintained in sync with new or updated functions / applications. This
means that both the Standards and Procedures Manual and Job Runbooks must be
integrated within the Security and Disaster Recovery Systems.
Documentation and Training related to Disaster Recovery Plans
Documentation of the Security and Disaster Recovery Systems will be
accomplished and personnel training classes developed, so that team members and
regular personnel will understand security and recovery practices and
procedures. These materials will be maintained online via a company-wide
Intranet, while classes will be a mix of computer based and classroom
instruction.
